    Description

Vintage Divided Relish Mfg. By L E Smith no 650/203 (OMN) Hobnail Frosted Fruit. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail.
Texture is this wonderful divided relish dish descriptive word. It measures 8 3/4” x 1” (approximate) and weighs 1 lb 5oz. It is a pleasure to pass this dish from one end of the table to the other so all may experience it many textures on the bottom side.
A dish to be used for sure! A conversation starter, you can tell your guests the facts behind this piece. Made by the L. E. Smith company in Jeannette Pennsylvania. The same company known for the manufacturing of the glass used on the Model T headlamps.
This plate originated in 1926 as a plain divided dish without any decoration. Later in the century the tiny hobnails (dewdrops) and the carved (intaglio) fruit consisting of berry, pear and orange among leaves and twigs were added. The piece presented here was made between 1948 and 1950.
Please refer to pictures as part of the description and condition. There are mold marks as a result of the manufacturing process shown in photo #10. A small chip is noted in photo #11. They do not distract from the aesthetics of the dish. The fruit is entirely frosted with no noticeable defect in the surface the photos show ambient lighting glare.
