MOON & STAR pattern LARGE PITCHER clear glass L.E.Smith 40 ounce WATER lemonade

Description

Offered for sale is a beautiful clear glass 40 ounce WATER or LEMONADE PITCHER made by L. E. Smith.  It's in the MOON & STAR pattern.  With clear Moon & Star pattern glass there's often some question whether a piece is the original antique (originally named PALACE, and made in ~1888 by Adams Glass) or the more recent version by L.E. Smith or L.G. Wright.  In this case there's no question, as the Adams pitcher had a very different shape (pictures 4 and 5).
This pitcher stands 8 1/4 inches (21.0cm) tall, and measures 4 1/2 inches (11.4cm) across the top.  The base measures 3 1/8 inches (7.9cm) in diameter.  A U.S. quarter is shown in the first three pictures, to give an accurate impression of the size at a glance.  This is a high quality work in vintage American glass.
It is in perfect condition, with no chips, cracks, scratches or repairs.  There is no discoloration or cloudiness in the glass.  Watch for the other fine glass items I'm offering for auction or sale this week, including more MOON & STAR!
